Like the title says; Select Movie library and I get an immediate “Stopped Working” dialog box.    Crashes out and restarts MC.

This seemed to happen after I swapped out my secondary drive.  I reset all my libraries and recorder storage to this new drive.  Everything works, but this.  I even tried the “C:\Windows\eHome\mcupdate.exe -MediaCenterRecoveryTask” .  It reset everything, but crashes continue.  Tried the reindexing of the DVDInfoCache well.  Nothing.

Was going to do a backup from a image, but for some reason I am having problems with this as well.

Pointers would be great about now 🙂

Sound like you have a corrupt WMP library. Try deleting it and starting fresh. To delete it, delete all the *.wmdb files found under %LocalAppData%MicrosoftMedia Player

You’ll need to stop the WMPNetworkSvc service if you’ve had Media Center running or reboot and then delete before running Media Center.

      NET STOP WMPNetworkSvc

      DEL /Q “%LocalAppData%MicrosoftMedia Player*.wmdb”

Disclaimer: You’ll lose all your music metadata that isn’t embedded, ratings, played history, etc…nothing I care about but others might.

Thanks.  I will give it a try and get back to you.

Did not work for me.  When I went to Recorded TV we tried to watch a movie recorded from TV and it crashed too.  That movie was, of course, also present in the Movie Library.  I decided to try delete.  Once deleted all worked OK again.  A corrupted recording did all that?
