Here’s one for the Linux guru’s… I’ve been debating moving to Linux for years. One of the things that keeps holding me back is a DSP plugin for WinAmp called Sound Solution which works like an Optimod compressor that commercial radio stations use. It levels out the dynamics and the tonal response so my 100Gig of music sounds nice and even (but not super squashed like an FM station).
My question is this… is there a media/music/MP3 player for Linux that is capable of using WinAmp DSP plugins? (this one happens to be one .dll file) If I can get past this hurdle I would definitely start working harder to move toward Linux and away from M$.
Any ideas???
