My family does a decent amount of camping each year and more and more campgrounds have wireless in them. Given most of these wireless networks are unsecured and running off a basic home wireless router. However we seem to run into the common problem of just barely being out of range of the wireless networks giving us a very low connection strength. I had the idea of getting a repeater on an extension cord in a water proof container of some sort and sticking it away from the main camping area. I have not come across too many wireless routers that will do this yet. However I have come across some firmware you can stick on a regular router that allows you to turn your router into a repeater and also creating your own separate personal network. I was just curious if anyone has worked with repeaters at all. I would prefer something simple considering my parents would be the ones using it. They do have some know how but dont want anything too complicated.
