Do we have to delete the old images that were created by the old Yammm?
[/quote]
Nope. As long as you have download folder artwork enabled it will now save them in a cache folder that is used by Windows Media Center.

Great, thanks for the following up and letting me know.
October 22, 2013 at 5:25 pm #33209mikinhoI’m about to board a plane but wanted to say thanks for all the comments. I really didn’t think many people still used Yammm. Glad to see it is.
Please send feature requests if you have them. The next two features being released are Media Browser support and TV support.

October 22, 2013 at 10:26 pm #33213tza74Ok…so I’m probably a little slow but before when I first got Yammm it would put the dvd artwork on the folder and on the file inside the folder…it is no longer putting the artwork on the file in the folder it is only putting the artwork on the folder itself…is this a setting or does it not do that anymore…appreciate all you have done so if its not supposed to do this anymore dont worry about it I am just curious thanx

That is off by default. I probably didn’t test it though. Do you have “Download file artwork” enabled?
October 22, 2013 at 11:31 pm #33215tza74I did not…just folder art…see told you I was slow
October 23, 2013 at 12:49 am #33216tza74Another question sorry…like when I first got this program I just downloaded it and told it the folder where my movies where and bam it did everything I could ever dream…since it stopped working and I have downloaded the new version which my version is v.13.10.22.76 for windows 8 which I assume the download is yammm_setup_w8_13_10_22_0076.exe? so my question is can I like totally delete everything the old Yammm did and totally start over with the new version like I never had the old version? I have read people talking about deleting the cache or something which is assume is all the current information the old Yammm populated but I cant figure out how to do that and even if I did do that would it accomplish what I’m trying to do by basically starting over like I am just getting Yammm for the first time?
October 23, 2013 at 1:05 am #33217bmytonHey Michael,
I just wanted to let you know that the new version is working great!
I have my DVDs on a network share and found out through trial and error that you can’t use the local mapping to add that folder to the network (G:My DVDs doesn’t work, use \yourrouterMediaMy DVDs instead).
Once I got it updating I did a mass deletion of all of the .xml, .nfo, .db, and .jpg files in my library and let the new version restore. Everything worked perfectly, and the DVDs that had previously pulled down foreign language covers or incomplete MetaData were now fixed.
I am eagerly looking forward to the addition of TV shows in the new version. It seems like 1/2 of the DVDs I’ve picked up lately have been TV series. I sent a donation to help the process along 🙂
Thanks again,
Ben
October 23, 2013 at 1:18 am #33218tza74How did you delete all the .xml etc. files?
October 23, 2013 at 2:45 am #33219mysourcessayI have “Use sort titles” checked but its not working all my movies that start with “The” are in the T’s everything else seems to be working great!!!
October 23, 2013 at 4:23 am #33220mjdozUse Windows explorer and open the folder that has all the movie folders in it. Use the search function (top right hand corner) to show all *.xml files. Delete as needed individually or as a group (CRTL+A). Not sure if it defaults to show sub folders or not but it can.
You can CTRL+Z if you get it wrong (may not always work….)

No CTRL+Z in this solution so use with caution and test to make sure it is what you want to do.
Open a DOS box, change to the correct drive and cd to the correct directory.
****use with caution****
del /s *.xml <insert extension as needed>
/****use with caution****
This will delete all files with a .xml <whatever you put> from that directory down. The /s means subdirectories.
As I said, test before deployment.
Mr. Welter,
To you Sir, I simply say, thank you.
Michael,
I have used your application for (IIRC) about five years or so and have found it to be an absolutely wonderful peice of software. It is so unpretentious and simple in it’s operation yet performs such a magnificent job in it’s primary function.
With 800+ movies in my collection I can only begin to imagine how much work you have saved me and, for that alone, I extend wholehearted thanks.
Please continue to have a passion for this software and if you ever decided to change to a paid model I, for one, would be amongst one of your many customers.
Yours Sincerely,
Wingnut
