…I scrolled all the way back to May 31 and didn’t see anything about this in the MissingRemote news – maybe there was a Computex coverage article I missed.
But Zalman’s website is showing an update to the 160XT with supposedly a nicer touchscreen, available July/Aug this year. Not certain what else changed. Haven’t found it offered for sale anywhere yet (PCAlchemy even).
Anyone seen it in the wild? Opinions, comments, etc? Grouping the controls under the touchscreen looks a little cleaner to me, and one hopes that with this being newer Vista compatibility is “built in” rather than grafted on.
The itch to rebuild my circa-2004 first try HTPC is getting more and more unbearable, although I’ve also picked up an even more expensive underwater photography hobby (which is just a way to make scuba diving itself more expensive). Some of the other touchscreen cases are getting longer in the tooth and more questionable for Vista support going forward. (No, not in love with Vista, but can’t see building a new system around XP at this point…)
