I also checked it out this morning and the plugin is back to normal.

You are correct that the PC will decode the Dolby soundtrack. With the speakers you selected, the PC should be configured to downmix to stereo.

I thought you were interested in Dolby Digital? The Logitech speakers are stereo so there is no benefit or point in worrying about Dolby.

You should take a look at WinDVD. It is less expensive than PDVD and TMT and sounds like it will serve your needs.

You should use the 30-day trials of all three software packages so you can give them a spin. You’ll also get 90 days of free BD playback 🙂 .

Did you use the recovery method?

As Andrew pointed out before, you can just place the .BIO on a non-bootable USB key (even though instructions say bootable IIRC) and use the normal procedure with the jumper.

                Aaron Ledger

This tuner will not work with Dish or DirecTV. While they may use DVB-S2, they also have an encryption layer that this tuner will not handle. Unfortunately, there are no internal tuners that can handle Dish or DirecTV. About the best you can do for those providers is to utilize a capture solution like the Hauppauge Colossus.

I second the Audacity recommendation. It is free and it works well from my experience.

This sounds like it could be HDCP negotiation.

For calibration, you can start here. Depending on your screen type, you can also implement this.

Hypothetically, you could capture in 24-bit 192 kHz and probably have something that is pretty close to the original vinyl.

Wow, I haven’t done this since the late ’90’s. Back then, I hooked up the record player via a receiver’s TAPE outputs into a sound card for recording. Today, you can get record players with USB output if I am not mistaken.

I guess it’s not surprising. I’ve had mixed results in the past with WU drivers so I always get them from the manufacturer now.

I’ve also heard you can go to NCIX and have them price match micro center. NCIX now has a US division.
