Sorry, I should have specified the ehome directory. To perform the same task, you can also go through Task Scheduler.
Aaron LedgerI just upgraded a x64 DH67BL (to Samsung plasma via Denon) and see no issues although I downloaded direct from Intel. I generally never use the WU drivers. In this case, I am not sure if there is a difference.
Aaron LedgerDid you use the elevated command prompt?
You can also run this from the Task Scheduler.
Aaron LedgerUnfortunately, almost all rebates these days are of the pre-paid card variety.
As far as the Vertex 2 itself, I’ve been using it in my laptop since Saturday with no problems 🙂
Aaron LedgerI believe the end result should be similar.
Aaron LedgerSo then you would use Show Analyzer’s file watching function?
I always found DTB to be better and more flexible at that function.
Aaron LedgerThat will work, but the mcupdate method is using the built-in MS function for starting WMC from scratch.
Aaron LedgerIf you get a case with an SFX PSU then you could replace the supply. One of these SeaSonic PSUs would probably be good.
Aaron LedgerTo reset your WMC database, close WMC, open an elevated command prompt and enter
mcupdate -MediaCenterRecoveryTask
Aaron LedgerAre stuck with Micro-ATX? Mini-ITX might have more options for you.

Aaron LedgerIs the SilverStone TJ08-E too big? It is a relatively small tower, takes a standard ATX PSU and can be quiet if you control the fan.
Aaron LedgerMy mother-in-law is using a Roku that I set up for her on wi-fi which I also set up for her. She uses it to stream Netflix and I have heard no complaints from her about it since it was installed almost a year ago so everything must be okay 🙂
Aaron LedgerI only have some experience with Powerline and in my older home, the throughput is not so great for a 1080p video application. It is definitely susceptible to noise. As an example, turning on a hair dryer will obliterate the throughput. It might work well in your home, but then again, it seems like a crap shoot.
MoCA and HPNA are both supposed to work well.
Aaron LedgerI’m not sure what the DirecTV DVR draws power-wise, but it is probably similar or even more than the Cable STB I had recently that was a receiver only. It drew about 20W all the time, even in standby. The DirecTV receiver will stay locked to the carriers even in standby so it is probably consuming something similar or more.
With your HTPC, you can let it sleep where it will only consume a couple watts so you may even be better off than you were with DTV in terms of power consumption.
