How about the Event Log? Go to System log and filter by “Power-Troubleshooter”.
Aaron LedgerWhat happens when issuing “powercfg -requests” and “powercfg -a”. Also, check out the power-troubleshooter messages in your event log. Here’s more info on powercfg that may be helpful.
Aaron LedgerAre you saying that it worked before you swapped drives and performed a recovery and only stopped working after the swap? Or did it still work after the swap?
Aaron LedgerIt seems to be a great storage drive. I’ve been using one and thinking of getting another at this sweet price point.
Aaron Ledger90W should be plenty, You can see our i3-2100T review system shows only about 45W used with CPU at full load. Power LED is important. I like to know at a glance that system is either on or off/sleep. I’m not sure you would have any issues running as a SageTV server, but a processor upgrade could be performed any time if it becomes a requirement.
Aaron LedgerI recommend that you start out as simply and minimally as possible. It sounds as if you may have a wiring, load or noise issue on the circuit. Perhaps some of the following will help you resolve or isolate the issue:
1. Replace the power strip with a different one.
2. Bypass the receiver and plug HTPC directly into display. In fact, remove everything from the power strip except for the HTPC and display. Unplug any coaxial cablesand anything else except for HDMI cable, power and any required peripherals. If problem goes away, begin pluging things back in one at a time and try to correlate the problem with what you’ve added in.
3. Plug the display into a completely different outlet that is on a different circuit.
4. Try to determine if the problem is coincident with any big appliances in operation such as AC, refrigerator, washing machine, etc.
Aaron LedgerIn the Harmony software, click “Customize Buttons” on the activity you wish to configure. Next, find the Volume Up and Down commands. Select the device and command to send to the device that you want. As an example, I have Device set to “AV Receiver” and Command set to “VolumeUp” which controls my AVR volume.
Regarding PDVD, you should be able to utilize the standard WMC remote fine. I have used it successfully with PDVD in the past.
Aaron LedgerYou will be fine and this RAM will fit the DH61AG. The speed of the RAM is generally not a bottleneck these days. The faster stuff helps, but it is likely not a big enough gain that you will “feel the difference.”
Aaron LedgerIf you haven’t tried yet, you should check out the Realtek HDMI audio driver. It is my understanding that it works better for 5000-series cards and is not afflicted with the silent stream bug.

Any solutions?

Roll back if it was working before. Bad AMD drivers are certainly not unheard of :D.
Aaron LedgerUnless you have a need for dynamic, basic should be fine.
Aaron Ledger1. ISO support: I have heard people have issues with Dameon Tools. I never used it, but I can say that I have no issues using SlySoft’s Virtual Clone Drive to handle ISO mounting.
2. Video_TS: This is handled natively by WMC.
3. MKV: You only need something like LAV Splitter or Haali Splitter for handling MKV containers.
4. Additional codecs: So far, you haven’t demonstrated a need for them. What’s inside of your MKV containers? What makes you think that you need them?
5. Folder Layout: Are you looking to use the Native Movie Library, Video Library or both? We have a Native Movie Library guide that was just written.
6. TV setup is covered in the Ceton Network Tuner guide as you found.
If I were in your shoes, I would uninstall any codec packs and other software and start from scratch again. Then, work on one aspect at a time so that you understand what it is you need and what it is you are doing. By installing a codec pack, you are blindly shooting a shotgun into the dark and hoping you hit the right target and don’t hit something you didn’t intend (unless you know exactly what the codec pack does).
Aaron LedgerYou can definitely fix those issues with your Harmony.
To disable turning off devices when changing activity, go to the activity, select “Settings”, then select “Chang options”, change “Turn Off Unused Devices”.
For the activities where your volume is not controlling your receiver, you need to run the set up wizard again on those activities and you will get an option which asks what you want to use for volume control.
The Harmony 300 will work. I do have one that I purchased recently. It certainly doesn’t have the bells and whistles of the One, but it is decent for the price. It is limited to a single activity, “Watch TV.” The configuration also is browser-based and it is fairly straightforward since there is no complication with multiple activities. It should work for your situation if you are willing to give it a try.
Aaron LedgerOne option that I believe will work is the Amulet remote.
Personally, I use the Harmony to control everything. Where are you running into trouble with yours? What model do you have? I agree that the software for configuring it can be a bit frustrating to use at times, but once it is configured, you shouldn’t need to mess with it again.

I have installed WMC, Media Browser, and the Shark007 codecs (including DAEMON tools lite) on a test machine, but after doing so, found everything didn’t work ideally (i.e. many archived files didn’t work, folders didn’t work correctly within Media Browser, ripped movies don’t display correctly, etc.).
After searching on Missing Remote for some basic WMC installation and configuration guide, I can’t see one. It seems like many have different settings and opinions on how the Shark007 codecs should be configured. If there is no guide, what about thoughts on getting a few of you experts to make one so newbies (such as myself) can adopt WMC much more?
The folder layout guide for Media Browser and ripped movies was great and I appreciate it!
If such basic guide exist, please forgive me! 🙂 Thx!

We do not have a guide for exactly what you are looking for. Using plug-ins, you can extend WMC to do quite a bit of functionality, but that also means that there are endless permutations in how to configure it and set it up.
It sounds like you are trying to jam all the pieces of your puzzle together at once. Perhaps you can start with one thing or aspect and we can go from there. How about we start with what types of files you have. Are you sure you need to install additional codecs?
