From your description I would not recommend a 32GB SSD drive. Even for a pure HTPC 32GB is fairly tight after updates, caches, …. You start with 15GB-18GB free and in ~6 months you’ll have 1GB free.If you plan to do light gaming and “standard computer” it just won’t be enough. Most people with a 32GB SSD will move caches, the pagefile and other system folders to their data drive which really limits the usefulness of a SSD. Spend a little extra and get a 60GB or 64GB drive.

32GB isn’t enough
IMO the problem with the keyboard isn’t that you need it sometimes, but that you need it and a remote to get all your HTPC stuff done (like changing audio tracks in PDVD).
Having a remote with a keyboard isn’t quite the same thing; now if only it were universal 🙂

I’m not sure that it would be a good idea to mix different size/v fans on the same line so I didn’t share the PWM, it’s just used for the HSF.

I forgot to add that when using a Core i5, plan on getting a 3rd party heatsinkfan.
Speaking of 3rd party fans – I just swapped in one of these PWM fans for the Nexus I was using on the heatsink. Been really happy with the results.

Mikinho’s comments re. the MAC only apply to static DHCP assignments (i.e. where the MAC is used byt the DHCP server to assign the same IP address to the client each time). If you use pure static assignments it shouldn’t apply.

… is there a need to isntall AC3Filter for the older codecs? It seems like ffdshow sends both new and old to the receiver.
AC3Filter isn’t required, but in my experience AC3Filter is more reliable with AC3/DTS than ffdshow.
For e.g. skipping around a lot in a file can lose audio when using ffdshow.

“access denied” means another application has an exclusive hold on the port.

That’s weird – maybe it’s something they are planning to add in a future firmware revision. I haven’t seen it show up in any of the DLNA browsers or noticed an application on the display.
