Aside from All Vid, there’s also another proposal on the table that is supposed be discussed this month at the FCC meeting. The proposal is to allow devices to be allowed to communicate to the cable head end via IP if the customer already has cable Internet.

Hopefully that goes through, but I want #4 on that list the most 🙂

The timing of this announcement is interesting given the potential for rule changes next week…

We need to get companies just to abandon TAs and come out with a better solution.

          Yep – it’s called “AllVid”.

Speaking of calibration… Here’s a new VT25 review from Kevin Miller, formerly Cnet. Hopefully, Panasonic can fix this in a new firmware.

Thanks.  I hope they fix the video processing too, one of the lowest HQV-HD scores I’ve measured.

If that’s what he measured, I am surprised. Of course, it is surprising that PC Mag review says it has Kuro blacks as well. Perhaps there is some panel variance at play, firmware bug, phospors not aged enough, etc.

                  [/quote]

Might be a difference in test equipment.  My 2 cents – both are excellent panels 🙂

The “0.017” number is from the CNET article.

He may end up taking the VT25 lower if/when the MLL rises like he did for the Panasonics last year. I don’t think anyone can go wrong with the C8000 or the VT25 though.

Looking at AVS it seems the Samsung plasmas continue to have a pretty widespread buzzing problem, which is really off putting 🙁 Because the C7000 and C8000 series seem like pretty compelling options otherwise.

i can’t believe they would cancel Fringe. I have to believe their DVD sales are pretty good. Nobody i talk to doesn’t like that show.

I liked the first season, then got bored about half way through season two and figured I’d catch up during the summer – which never happened so Fringe got purged to make space for fall and the favorite went away…
