Chasseur
My system is Win64 with a GT430. I’m also using TMT. Do you consider 275.33 the only stable driver?
Do you use 24hz switching for bluray playback?
Chasseur2 weeks later, it still works great. However, yesterday, I had to change the charging battery with a fresh charged one. It looks I will have to swap the charging battery every 2 weeks…
ChasseurI don’t know, but it’s only 5$…
ChasseurI just tried the Next Gen Remote Extender (the UFO) and it works great so far. I’m using it with the original Microsoft media center remote.
I also ordered an extra transmitter battery for my microsoft wireless media center keyboard and it works great too.
ChasseurDo you have any lag (a delay between the moment you press the remote button and the moment the action is executed)? I wonder how the responsiveness of the remote is affected by the RF/IR conversion…
Also, anything bad about the lifetime of the batteries? Do you need to change your remote batteries often?
ChasseurWhen using the Next Generation Remote Control Extender, does it stops sending the IR signals from the remote? I understand that it will generate RF signals when pressing the buttons, but does the remote still work in IR also?
ChasseurI tried “shutdown.exe /r” as a scheduled task, but the computer rebooted even if media center is recording.
ChasseurDid you check for sure that your tv doesn’t have a game mode? If your TV is a Panasonic, chances it has a gaming mode… You should try it
ChasseurI’ve had some conflicts between my TV video processings and my PC video processings, like they were both trying to perform some kind of motion correction or whatever, which introduced some stuttering.
If you have a “game mode” on you tv, try this. It will disable all the video processing done by the tv.
ChasseurI do have the new black media remote from microsoft, to use with my media center extender (xbox), but I don’t like it. Well, I do like the feel, the shape. It works well, but it miss some buttons. If I remember, there is no Big Green button, no Stop button, no recorded tv button. It makes using media center annoying.
For example, if I’m watching something, and I want to go to my recorded tv, there is no way to do it, except from hitting the back button many many times until I hope to get to the main screen, and then access the Recorded Tv button.
ChasseurI’m not sure what to think about it. You sure have an extended setup, but cancelling Cable to save money and start paying usenet services to get illegal stuff…
ChasseurThere are so many end of year specials that I want to record… 🙁
ChasseurDo you think I can’t plug a computer (htpc) into it? Along with the TV, STB, etc? Or a computer would be too demanding?
ChasseurThere is one similar to the RC197 that if RF, but I can’t find it…
ChasseurI’m using an MCE remote with learning capabilities from Microsoft. However, this remote doesn’t exist anymore. The TV and volume buttons were learning buttons.

An xbox remote might work too. Microsoft will release a new xbox remote in november. I would like to know if it could work with MCE.

Maybe someone at missingremote might be lucky enough to try a unit before release?
