On my i3-540 25-35% (ffdshow tryouts 15-25%)
FYI: H264 (DXVA is around 7%)

Well, after a little time looking a C++, I decided that the little bit of Jitter I get wasn’t too bad. I’ll keep “testing”, but I only saw it once in the last movie.
Either way, it is working really well and the jitter isn’t really worse than PowerDVD, so I think it’s good as is. We have company all weekend, so I suspect we watch a bunch of movies. Also, I am watching on a 120″ screen and I’m extremely picky about video. I doubt most people would notice the jitter.

What did you do to disable HWA? It might be worth trying to see if I can get it 100% Jitter free.

Anyway, 2.0b5 was not auto binding in GraphStudio (or WMP/C), but I noticed I could manually bind it. I then noticed that MEDIASUBTYPE_WVC1 was not exposed as a supported type.
I justed added MEDIASUBTYPE_WVC1 as FORMAT2. I can send you the exact change once I’m home. It was pretty small. I get a slight jitter once every 2-3 mins, but it’s not bad (most people would probably not notice).
I was getting jitter with 1.5, so I downloaded the new SDK to see if it would resolve it. The jitter could have been related to another issues I was having. Now that the other issue is resolved, I may try your version again to see if I can get it 100% jitter free.

Does not matter. Freakiness of freakiness, it is now working.
I’m not sure of WMC or Windows updated, or somehow falling back to the Microsoft AHCI driver did it (yet another issue, the 2TB HDD is not waking up all the time), but it is working now.
I’ll just be the boy who cried wolf for a while. Thanks for your help.

I tried to convert a couple of HD DVD and it seems like the DMA extenders just don’t have it in them to play anything HD other than MPEG-2.

Good to hear that things are working! Even with my current handicap, this thing rocks!
I don’t have a tuner card on this box. I was trying to watch the show off of another machine (via GBE). I could not get it to work, so I copied it locally. Same issue.
I’ll give SPDIF a shot. It would be disappointing, but I may be able to rig it so so I can get HD Audio through the HDMI (PowerDVD) and SD Audio (DirectShow) through SPDIF.
Even wierder, the family is watching a dts show via HDMI right now (mkv). No issues. I would think that would get hosed up as well.
I am beginning to wonder if it might be WTV or a specific sequence that corrupts the driver. I kept trying the same show, over and over. I don’t have a lot of AC-3 that isn’t WTV, most of the stuff is HD DVD rips (eac3 or dts).
Anyway, I have to wait for them to go to bed before I play with it. I’ll rip a DVD and give it a shot later tonight.
