I’m still using Meedio! Main reason is its ability to have a single DVD library containing both my DVDs and BluRays and then launching a different player depending on which kind it is. I don’t think that can be done in any other front-end (other than maybe Xlobby?).ET
It can be done in Media Center (natively for Blu-ray and in almost all the different gallery front-ends), SageTV via plug-ins, MythTV, XBMC and Plex for sure.
Or when you say “depending on which kind it is” do you mean resolution, NTSC vs PAL, ?
Nope, I mean DVD vs Blu-Ray. I have it launch WMP-HC for DVDs and TMT for Blu-Ray.So you’re saying that 7MC can mix DVDs and Blu-Ray discs in the same library now? That’s good to know, thanks!

Now, if they’d only create a model with the high-end features/PQ of the VT25 without the 3-D…
The 3D bits are almost free (look at V10 vs. VT25 pricing) and make the 2D PQ better. Why would you want to loose that?
I want the better VT25 2D PQ without the VT25 cost. I don’t think it’s the 3D technology per-se which makes the 2D PQ better, maybe I’m wrong…ET

I use S3 for my front-end, however my server stays on 24/7. All of the hard drives spin-down when not in use for ~20 minutes, and the OS is on an SSD. I measured the total consumption with the ~9 drives spun down and it’s around 50-60W. My backup machine sits off all week until midnight on Fridays when the server turns it on with a wake-on-lan packet, does the back-up, then shuts it off again.

Email John. This problem’s been fixed.
