I have to agree with captain_video. I watched $#*! My Dad Says and maybe thought about 3 of the jokes were funny the entire show. I had hoped it would be better since Shatner’s character on Boston Legal was great (and he plays a similarly opinionated jerk in this). But the writing on this show is rather weak and everything seems forced. It’s just not funny. My opinion also has nothing to do with the fact that I’m unemployed, even if I was working I’d find the plot dismal. And I’d cut the cable cord long before losing my job, as well as skipping commercials, so I’m not any advertiser’s target demographic. I’ll give the show one more episode and then remove it from my recording list if it doesn’t get any better.

Yeah the first episode had to introduce the characters and set up the story so I could see how you might have thought it dragged.

And as far as my vote for “first series to be canceled”, I caught one episode of The Undercovers. Pretty much only watched it for the eye candy, and guess what… eye candy isn’t even enough to make that show successful. It’s really that bad.

I forgot to record Running Wilde, so I’m gonna see if it’s online and then record future shows if I like it.

Guess it’s just me, but I don’t see anything at all appealing about this device beyond its great aesthetics. Mini-usb? It’d be using micro. 8mp camera? Those have been on phones for over a year now. Projector? There’s phones shipping with that already too. Built in bluetooth headset? Also done years ago. The only really innovative part is the whole virtual keyboard thing and the IR dongle, both of which I’d find rather useless for a phone. Why on earth would you want to wave something around in 3D space to control navigation on a phone? It’d be far more convenient to just use a touchscreen. I could only see this making any sense in projector mode. And the virtual keyboard would really only be useful in that same situation. If I was a business person with these kinds of needs I’d much rather just have a netbook or something.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of Brando’s keyboards locally. Probably doesn’t help that there’s tons of them (67 on their site as of this post) and they seem to change or add to the lineup all the time. I would have loved to have held the one I bought in person first as well, I may not have gotten it as a result.

                                There’s also a non-bluetooth version ($2 cheaper) on Brando’s site.

Wish this thing was around back when I bought my mini wireless keyboard from brando. It has some of the features I complained my keyboard was lacking, and also may solve my dilemma regarding size. Can’t justify buying it now though since the old one still works fine.
