I have to say that’s way more affordable than I thought it would be… I know the pro stuff is $1000+
I’ve been interested in getting something for real calibration (not just by eye) and not the junk marketed to home users like the DataColor Spyder3TV.
I’m curious how/why is that colorimeters drift? and what can be done about it?

Yeah I mean all plasmas buzz a little bit, I’ve never noticed my 2008 Panny buzz really. But it seems Sammy has a long history of noticable from the couch level of buzz.

Looking at AVS it seems the Samsung plasmas continue to have a pretty widespread buzzing problem, which is really off putting 🙁 Because the C7000 and C8000 series seem like pretty compelling options otherwise.

This is where my speculation comes in…that perhaps DTV was cooperative but Dish wasn’t due to Project Draco not being released and ongoing work with Project Snowbird
Ah yeah I getcha. It’s such a bummer Dish never finished their WMC project.
Snowbird is such a mysterious project at the moment… hopefully Dish will just let MS to offer up Dish listings in the mean time.

I think what you are missing is that Media Center does not have Dish Network EPG for Digital Cable tuners. Media Center’s EPG coverage is lacking when it comes to satellite, DVB-S, etc.., providers.
Oh right because it is considerd a “digital cable tuner” so I guess WMC wouldn’t offer up Dish, DirecTV, etc. as a channel line-up option since they aren’t cable companies?

It works independantly of any STB you might have. So what’s the deal with caring about Dish’s own satelite receiver GUI/EPG?

Yeah I read it back when it showed up on newstands in late-July/early-August and as usual I was disapointed with it. Most mainstream “PC power user” type magazines really don’t know much about the HTPC niche.
