Mike GarcenParticipant
wait, so your plasma does not have HDMI?
HTPC (ATI) >HDMI> ONKYO >HDMI> HDFury2 >COMPONENT> PLASMA
That accurate?
Mike GarcenParticipantok, following you there. But then if you ONLY have the Plasma connected HDMI, and boot up…nothing the whole way through?
btw, you hint at this earlier, this exact same system worked fine with the older NVidia graphics card, right?
Mike GarcenParticipantso i haven’t had this problem with your card specifically but i have experienced it in the past with older cards back in my OEM days.
I must highly suggest installing Logmein on that system, that way if you’re messing with settings and suddenly can’t get picture that you can restore settings via your laptop.
Also, you don’t mention, does the system show BIOS & Boot screen connected only HDMI? And then loses signal when it goes into Windows? Or completely black screen the entire time?
Mike GarcenParticipantlol, thanks lowtech! we genuinely appreciate suggestions like this. We’ll see what we can do, shouldn’t be too tricky 🙂 i think it’s a good sign when our readers ask for more prominent ad placement 🙂
Mike GarcenParticipantwell then make sure you increase ur chances with more facebook entries (by suggesting to friends)!!!!
let’s hear what gifts you guys have gotten?
Mike GarcenParticipantjust to clarify, you don’t even have to put @MissingRemote (makes life easier, but not mandatory since I find your entries via the http://bit.ly/mr1000p url)
Mike GarcenParticipanti don’t have the model. but not a big deal, they’re happy as is now, and i already told them to just buy a new LCD tv 🙂 but they have existing furniture excuse 😛
Mike GarcenParticipantphew! ok, i feel less stupid now 🙂 That’s what i ended up doing, component+optical one way, and then component+analog the other device. Luckily they listen to music more than movies, so really just cared about 2-channel stereo.
thanks!
Mike GarcenParticipantHi Ogi!!! I think you’re officially my first Facebook real friend to start a thread here ever!
Assuming you can’t wait for the next Sandy Bridge version (or need it), then i would recommend the INtel Clarkdale platform. There’s several good boards, depending on the size you need. They can all handle a Core i3 and can also bit stream. I’ve been using the DH55 (i think) for the past while and haven’t had a single issue, so i think u’ll be pleased.
You might want to consider upping to a Core i5 if only for future needs. But based on what you’re using it for, the i3 should be fine.
Mike GarcenParticipantgotcha. modified the bug list accordingly. thx
Mike GarcenParticipantur right on 12, but 11 is fixed for me. i just hit reply on your comment and i see it right above my reply box.
Mike GarcenParticipantso i was at work so i couldn’t do the 4.2 update (it said it would wipe all my info), so i did some other research. Come to find out there was a MUCH newer version of LockInfo that was out. So i upgraded to that version, and then I removed BiteSMS and went back to SMS QuickReply and everything seems to be running fairly peppy! yay!!

you could try to update to the newest iOS version, its supposed to help the 3G. and its an old enough phone that the jailbreak works for it no problem.
otherwise, you are kind of out of luck. its a 400Mhz processor trying to run the same OS (almost) as a phones with 50%+ and 100% more processing power.

Hrmmm…..very interesting…i wasn’t aware (and didn’t even think) about updating to the latest iOS 4.2….good suggestion sir! Probably worth a shot, because this is plain miserable! 🙂
Mike GarcenParticipantgreat feedback. Optimizing the number of forums is definitely on our to-do list, just want to make sure we get the kinks out of the system and make the site run as good as possible before focusing on that part. But keep em coming!!
Mike GarcenParticipanti know it’s not black friday anymore, but fry’s tomorrow has a 1-day saturday only sale, and i saw the Logitech 1100 remote for $130!!
