yeah, MC Studio makes it super easy. I did it once, but then after a couple re-installs I just got too lazy to do it again. TBH, i’m rarely on the menu pages anyways so I just didn’t bother. But agree there are some slick ones out there.

i’m hooked on spartacus thanks to you all!! i left it after the first episode bored me, but am really into it now. I think i only have like 3 more episodes to go on season 1. Not sure how i’m gonna respond to a new spartacus though, that guy was pretty good

from what i’ve read about the show, there’s quite a bit of characters in the story line (based off the book?) so hopefully it stays true. i too am concerned about it getting stagnant, but i enjoyed the first episode and will definitely stick around for at least half a season to see how it handles it.

ok, i understand your hesitation for using the separate SSD, but TRUST ME, you’ll be so happy!!! everything just works so much peppier. Not sure if you use resume from sleep, but that goes so much faster with SSD.
Only a couple comments–
1. 600 Watts is probably overkill given your specs. I suppose it doesn’t hurt, but you will be wasting some power given i’d guesstimate your system really could live off a 300watt draw (if even)
2. I’d suggest the Dinovo Mini over the SIIG. it’s bluetooth instead of RF, but it’s so tiny and just an awesome coffee table piece. I know it’s a bit more than the SIIG, but not that much.ok, i understand your hesitation for using the separate SSD, but TRUST ME, you’ll be so happy!!! everything just works so much peppier. IMO that was always such a main drawback to the HTPC in the living room and what scared most non-geeks. I understand the necessity, but i figure something like the Boxee remote will be *MUCH* better accepted by non-PC folks.
purely speculation of course. The thing could sell a million units in a month for all i know.

is it bad that as an htpc snob i feel kinda laughing when i see Hulu blocked on this? Like how did Google NOT know that was going to happen?

I’ve never used it on the mac, but i’m sure there’s a client side for it. It works pretty darned well on a local network. Worth checking out

I loved BSG and was digging Caprica. I think Syfy killed it w/ the extra commercial breaks and by splitting up the season. Also the fact that those guys would fund a movie like Sharktapuss tells me that they don’t have a clue as to what good Sci-fi is.
The feeling I was getting from people online was that the story was moving slowly to tell an intelligent story. In other words, it wasn’t reality TV you could watch while leaving your brain on snooze.
You know, that reminds me of this very intelligent and well thought out…….SQUIRREL!!!!!!! ;D
