I went by the site today hoping for some news, nothing. But one thing looked interesting, in the ad banner at the top when it flipped to the HDHR dual it showed a tiny black box, much smaller than the black box the Prime is in. So I wonder if that is the next version and why there has been a big drop in price and a few sales on the HDHR dual over the last month. [/quote]
Yep, that is the new dual HDHR. It is nicer looking than the original but at the same time the beauty of the HDHR is being able to have it anywhere you have a network drop so I don’t care much on the appearance. I do however wish it rack mount ears and was half rack width.
mikinhoParticipantI retired my USB-UIRT about a year ago so it may no longer be accurate but I believe the settings were under the File menu > Wake-up Config.
mikinhoParticipantWhat operating system and what architecture (32 vs 64)? I’m asking because USB-UIRT can have some issues waking from sleep.
For the USB-UIRT to wake from sleep you need to setup a preprogrammed IR code that has been been flashed into the non-volatile memory. I don’t know if EventGhost can access those but LRNHelper can.
mikinhoParticipantThere are many different opinions on what the “best” approach to storing Blu-ray movies. I don’t buy many movies anymore so I keep everything in as close to the original format as possible. This means using either AnyDVD HD or DVDFab to “Rip to Image”. Even though Windows Media Center and TMT5 support playback from folder I continue to use ISO format to ensure future compatibility. Both AnyDVD HD and DVDFab support ISO and folder (BDMV) output formats.
From there I use my Mount Image add-in and Virtual CloneDrive to view and mount the ISO within Windows 7 Media Center. At that point TMT5 is my preferred Blu-ray playback software.
mikinhoParticipantGo to your home page and tweet something like the below example for the QNAP contest
@MissingRemote My HTPC resolution is to rewire my home – http://bit.ly/mr1000p
If your twitter username is different than your Missing Remote username then include that to, i.e.
@MissingRemote My HTPC resolution is to rewire my home for Cat6 (by PAPutzback) – http://bit.ly/mr1000p
mikinhoParticipantYes. I am talking about the same file. It lists x86 since that is the architecture. x86-64 refers to 64-bit. x86-32 refers to 32-bit.
I’m in the middle of building a 32-bit virtual and will update the SP1 beta afterwards to update the script.
mikinhoParticipantSame version as the attached. I tested again to ensure it works and it did for me. I’ll go ahead and update the script.
mikinhoParticipantWhat build?
mikinhoParticipantThat post in the AMD forums is wrong.
What format audio are you trying to use? The HD2600 only supports 2-channel LPCM and multi-channel AC3 5.1. It does not support LPCM 5.1.
Are you using the AMD DVI2HDMI adapter? You need to use theirs or a compatible DVI2HDMI that carries audio, most do not. Monoprice sells one. If you are using AMD’s, only one of the dual DVI slots will carry audio. Take a look on the back of the card to see which you are using and try the other.
mikinhoParticipantVery cool, I haven’t checked it out yet. I will be though. Thanks
mikinhoParticipantI know it has its own distro…I just don’t think it is very optimized compared to other distros 🙂
mikinhoParticipantIf you are going w/ a XBMC distro I would recommend an Intel manufactered board like the DH57JG or at the very least a board with Intel network cards. My favorite distro for XBMC is Gentoo though Arch is a good middle ground between Gentoo and Debian.
For your poor WHS speeds what is 1- your switch do you have; 2- your network cards; 3- what drives do you have in your WHS?

I’m actually running 32 bit Windows 7. D:

Can you send me your dll? Otherwise it will take me a bit to get a 32-bit virtual setup.
mikinhoParticipantI sent via PM to you both. Was hoping to confirm it worked before we created a new guide for it 🙂
Edit: Attached to this post as well. The 64-bit version only though. You’ll need to manually replace the dll for now.
mikinhoParticipantWhat BIOS version on you running? I’m not suggesting updating your BIOS yet as the latest BIOS version can screw up fan control via a bad Intel MEI firmware update.
