Hi, thank you for the great app. I’m glad to see it working again! 🙂 I use it with WMC and it works like a charm – renaming looks working, metadata and IMDB rating as well. I’m not sure if there is somthing else like synopsis in metadata right now but it would be great to have genre and actors there in WMC showing up (and searching). Is it possible? Thanks again for creating such a fine app. 😉

That is a bug, it is meant to be there. It won’t be in the next build as I already have that running and ready to publish but I’ll fix for the following.
mikinhoParticipantThanks for the clarification Alan. I’m going to add settings to let users choose their preference.
mikinhoParticipantIt isn’t very obvious to anyone really 🙂
Some background. Windows Media Center stored metadata on a per user basis. That means every profile, including Media Center Extenders, would normally have to have different metadata files written. Previously in Yammm I had a list of user accounts on the local system to write metadata to.
In this version of Yammm I found how to make metadata per system instead of per user…which I think is great. But that doesn’t on other remote PCs. So with the additional folders you can share each user’s %AppData%MicrosofteHomeDvdInfoCache folder, setup permissions, etc. Very cumbersome.
It is much easier to just install Yammm on the 2nd PC. What I’d like to do is offer a “client” Yammm that will sync the local cache and thats it.
mikinhoParticipantThat should work out with the exception that I would leave download artwork turned on. It shouldn’t overwrite the artwork (test please) but will create a local cache of the artwork which makes WMC Library much faster to display artwork

“There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.” I get this message when I am trying to install.

Give me a few hours, I have a new installer done but need to test a bit more. It will require a log file if the install fails.

Thanks Michael,
What is the “Use IMBD Rating” setting supposed to do. I enabled it, restarted the service but cannot seem to find what it does. I was hoping it would add the IMDB rating to the folder name.

It appends the IMDB rating to the synopsis.
If can add it to the folder name as an option if you are interested. Let me know how you’d like it displayed
mikinhoParticipantI’ll check genre now.
Does other metadata like the synopsis show?

Hi
I am new to yammm. I have run up the configurator. It allows me to add locations and change settings but does not save them. ie when I go back in to the configurator my library locations are not there. There is no error message when I click save having made changes.
Any ideas? Is there a file or registry entry I can manually edit if necessary.
Thanks

Do you have MyMediaCenter installed? If so, uninstall Yammm and update to the latest MyMediaCenter, it will pull the latest Yammm
mikinhoParticipantHi guys, after installing please let me know about the CPU and RAM usage. It should be lowered than previous version but want to make sure.
mikinhoParticipantJust a reminder, if you are using Ceton MyMediaCenter please install the latest available. It will pull the latest Yammm so you dont’ need to install both.
mikinhoParticipantBtw, artwork * should * match the specified API language (your Windows locale language). If it doesn’t, feel free to downvote the artwork or report it on http://themoviedb.org/ which will help fix issues for others as well.
mikinhoParticipantThanks for the feedback! I’m debating a few ways to offer a UI to select alternate artwork or select a movie.
I really want to stay true to the original of Yammm that it does things without user interaction as much as possible but picking a preferred artwork is next to impossible with a GUI 🙂
What I’m currently thinking is a simple web page that is served from Yammm that lets you pick artwork andor “fix” bad matches.
mikinhoParticipantSo here is my plan for the next release:
1- Fight the urge to give an ETA
2- A better installer that supports incremental updates
3- Use some of the donations to purchase a cheap signing license for the installer. Since I’ll be making it Open Source I’d like to sign the files I build
4- Fix issue that requires having to restart the services after making first set of setting changes
5- Expose Yammm’s debug mode
6- Save logging

Firstly, big thanks for getting it working again!!
Tried the folder feature for Face Off, but despite renaming the folder to 754 the latest version seems not to pick up the identity.https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/754-face-off

Hmmm…I just tried it by making a folder
Whatever [tmdb=754]
And it worked for me. Can you try that?
Any preference on a better syntax?
