I installed the Leviton Whole House Surge Suppressor Surge Protector 51120-1. I’ve been very happy with it.
I purchased a new town home in a “developing” area and have “dirty” power (spikes, surges, sags, and brownouts) coming in. This was wrecking havoc with my home automation and lost at least 2-3 switches a month. Since installing the Leviton I haven’t lost a device, well over a year now.
An added benefit is that when Gatinha is vacuuming the lights no longer dim if the washerdryer are running.

Absolutely, you’ll still want surge protectors at each device.

I’d suggest a home surge protector versus a UPS. Once I installed my home surge protector I haven’t had any flicker on my lights, LCD HDTV, etc…
The actually install was extremely simple, less than 30 minutes. If interested I’ll post the model I used.

The only issue I know of is with Eyefinity and DHCP but it doesn’t sound like that would be an issue for you.

I hope so as well but the performance wasn’t up to par. With Chrome 6.x-dev, FF 4-beta and IE9-beta all supporting hardware accelerated HTML5 that will hopefully be changing.

I can confirm that Hulu does with with IE9 + Flash Square x86-64.
Can you confirm the below?
1- You installed Flash Square x86-64 ActiveX? If so,
2- You launched “Internet Explorer (64-bit)” and not the default “Internet Explorer”?
For Hulu Desktop to work with Square you need to install the 32-bit version of Flash Player.

EVGA manufacturers my preferred NVIDIA cards. They have several newer G210 cards that are low profile and will perform at least as good as the 8500 GT.
A few of the G210 they offer are passively cooled but I actually prefer their single slot cards with fans since the fans are only on when needed.
In terms of NVIDIA cards the GT220 or GT240 would be a better card but I believe are only a few low profile GT220, none of which I particularly like.
I had a MSI G210 and currently own an EVGA G210, GT220 and GT240. My own experience with them started off poor with some color space issues and poor performance but they have fixed almost all the issues and the latest drivers have been very stable. The upside to their cards is CUDA and 3D support but unlike the ATI counterparts they do not support HD Audio bitstreaming.
You should also look a mid-range ATIAMD 5xxx series. I believe you have a few more choices for low profile cards.
