I guess no one else watches that show. I know I don’t. Perhaps that’s what he’s been up to all this time… catching up on missed TV. 😉

Been there many times. But I found it was very easy this year to figure out which shows were easy to dump before the networks decided which ones to cancel and some others, like Castle and The Mentalist just feel like I’m watching a rerun each week and they were easy to drop.
I’ll watch anything Nathan Fillion is in. He’s just a great actor, so I couldn’t possibly stop watching Castle. I haven’t started watching the latest season of The Mentalist, but I really enjoyed it last season. The lingering story of Red John has me very intrigued as to how that’s going to progress.

(Edit: Noticed that Crim did pretty much say that.) Maybe it was a recent update or something? Have you tried uninstalling any updates? Feel free to come to the green side that is SageTV. 😉

Did anyone read about this? Apparently, some fan of the comic put together a complete list of events and places from the series on Google Maps. Note, if you don’t want spoilers, you should skip the map.
What do you mean by 12 graphic novels? According to that link above, there are 78 issues from the comic series. I’m clueless about the series itself and comics, so maybe it’s just a terminology thing for me.

TV going from standby to on. Also same for AVR — standby to on. TV/AVR are on. HTPC was always on. Media Center running full screen, but all I see is black screen. I think if I move the mouse, I see the mouse pointer, but that’s it. Ctrl+Alt+Del, then see blue Ctrl+Alt+Del screen, then ESC to get back to full screen Media Center. Everything happy after that.
This might be an EDID issue. Try this hdmiOn tool and see if that has any effect.

Are you running the latest drivers for your onboard graphics? (I’m assuming that’s how your TV is connected, since you didn’t list a GPU.)
Just to be clear, it’s not that the TV is in standby or off, right? The TV is actually on, but the Windows screen is black?

Maybe it’s the Harmony One then. I use the 890 and absolutely love it.

November 9, 2010 at 2:49 pm in reply to: Re: Are there tweaks or hardware considerations to make when bui #2301I’m going to be the dissenting opinion here and say that it may be your drive speed. Use an I/O monitor (Process Explorer is a good one) to keep a log of disk activity so that you can see if that really is the culprit. You can also check network activity using that, so you may be able to determine exactly where the issue is. If WHS is moving a lot of data across your drives, then the disk speed will certainly impact performance. But, if it’s fairly balanced (each drive with identical free space) and you have a good amount of free space (so you aren’t hitting the OS drive for temporary storage and it’s not constantly rebalancing), then the drive extender tech shouldn’t be causing you issues.
I do agree that it could be network drivers causing this, however.
