Oh man…  no, I hadn’t heard that.  Thanks for the link, jennyfur.  (Side note:  damn ads… had to disable every security add-on in FF to read the article.)  That’s horrible.  I really hope he beats it once again.  I can’t even imagine what this recurrence is doing to him and his family.

I do hope Starz keeps the series alive in some other fashion, so that he can return when he beats it a second time.  I wouldn’t mind a spinoff focusing on either Crixus or Doctore.

Woo-hoo, we’re up to three people who don’t care for Modern Family!  Our numbers are growing!  ;D

I’m with Mikinho.  Spartacus FTW this week.  Can’t wait for the prequel and then season two!

Damn… talk about getting flack for not liking something!  Sheesh!  ;D  For the record, my wife also didn’t find it funny, so there are TWO people who don’t care for it!  😛  Who knows… maybe we caught the only two bad episodes.  Oh well… they blew their chance then.

That usually happens when the news is submitted in a particular way.  One of two things usually cause this:

    1.  You haven’t logged out and back in recently.
    2.  You didn’t submit the news via the button at the top of the column on the right-hand side of the main page*.

    * …which doesn’t show up if you haven’t logged out and back in recently.  I don’t know why this happens, but it’s a known issue.  I also temporarily lose my mod access if I don’t log out and back in every so often.

I’ve been sending this public service announcement (warning:  graphic) to anyone I know who texts while driving or talks on the phone.  I admit I used to do it (talking, not texting), too, but I’ve stopped.  It simply is not worth the risk.  I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been behind someone or even in front of someone who kept crossing the middle line into oncoming traffic and screaming at them to hang up the damn phone or to pay attention.

I really wish this PSA was being shown in every school in America.  Sadly, some places in the US which have decided to air it have shortened it to almost nothing.

In this economy, it’s not that surprising.

Why wouldn’t you want to use a UPS with power conditioning features built in?
For me, the first thing that comes to mind is that I don’t need a battery backup for the TV.  At 440W, it’s not going to stay on for very long, unless I get another $3-500 UPS.  🙂  I’m open to anything, though, as long as it’s around the same price and give the correct protection.

Bigee, if I remember correctly from an old post you work for APC.  For a plasma do you think the extra features of the AV line are worth it since no other equipment would be used?

Note: While I understand you can’t speak for your company if do you work for them, it does imply a certain higher knowledge base =)
Yeah…  what he said.  😉  That’s the same question I would’ve asked.  Only the plasma TV will be plugged into whatever I choose, so I don’t need 12 outlets.  Are there valuable benefits to the unit you’re talking about, Bigee?

Got it.  Now I remember that it was, indeed, the fps that I read about and that’s why we don’t see more 30fps or 60fps footage.

    Thanks, Matt!
