BBC announces upcoming highlights for BBC HD trial

The UK HD train has picked up a little steam today with BBC's announcement of upcoming shows in its HD trials. Although HD has been slow to pick up in Europe, they do have the benefit of a more complete standardized and open TV broadcast system. There will be no waiting for Vista and CC for them.

We've just been sent details from the BBC of upcoming shows appearing as part of its current HD trials. Kicking things off this Saturday at 16.45 is the England Vs Macedonia Euro 2008 qualifier, followed by the first episode of the new Robin Hood series. Then on the 8th of October at 10pm there's My Summer Of Love, a new BBC Drama, while on the 10th at 9pm there's the second episode of The Amazing Mrs Pritchard, followed by Corinne Bailey Rae on the BBC One Sessions.

Friday October 13, meanwhile, sees episode three of Galapagos showing at 9pm, while other October first showings include Russell T Davies' new Torchwood drama; new comedy drama Sinchronicity; and the BBC's 2000 film of Billy Elliot.
