Pioneer Sponsors Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl

Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. today announces its renewed agreement for
title sponsorship of the Pioneer PureVision™ Las Vegas Bowl.  The announcement
by bowl executive director Tina Kunzer-Murphy and Pioneer senior vice president
of marketing Russ Johnston is a key component of Pioneer’s new advertising
campaign, which is heavily concentrated in sports programming.  RPA, the largest
independent advertising agency based on the West Coast, negotiated the renewed
title sponsorship on behalf of Pioneer.

The Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl is part of Pioneer’s HD sponsorship of
college football programming on ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD.  The bowl game represents
a culmination of an entire season of college football brought to fans in
remarkable HD resolution.

“Sports programming allows us to promote our PureVision plasma TVs very
effectively.  Renewing our title sponsorship of the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas
Bowl is an integral way to reach a primary demographic: sports fans,” said
Johnston.

This year’s game is the first to feature the champion or first selection from
the up-and-coming Mountain West Conference versus the fourth-place team from the
powerful Pacific-10 Conference; and will also increase its payout to $1 million
per team.  The 2005 Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl game drew both record
attendance and television ratings as California defeated Brigham Young
University in a 35-28 thriller.

A leader in high definition televisions, Pioneer became the first company to
market high definition plasma in 1997, and most recently became the first to
manufacturer a 50-inch plasma monitor with 1080p resolution – the highest HD
resolution available.  Currently, the company markets Pioneer and Elite® plasma
televisions and displays ranging in size from 42 to 60 inches diagonal.  Pioneer
engineers consistently develop the most advanced proprietary technologies to
ensure the brightest, sharpest picture possible.

“We are ecstatic to announce that Pioneer will continue as the title sponsor
for the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl,” Kunzer-Murpy said. “They are the
ideal brand to work with as we move to the next level in the world of college
bowl games.”

The Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl, which is an ESPN
Regional Television (ERT) owned-and-operated event, will be played Thursday,
December 21, 2006 at 5 p.m. PST at Sam Boyd Stadium. The game will air
nationally on ESPN and ESPNHD. Ticket information is available now by calling
