Panasonic Gear Fest
Its not very often you see a review of a complete setup but Home Theater Magazine just did that. It certainly makes sense and I hope to see more of these types of reviews. Its interesting to see how a company's product line meshes together to make the perfect experience. I think there is a lot of ground to me made in this area and eventually moving to the whole house. Certainly that is the goal of every CEO but its quite obvious that product lines don't talk to each other.
THey set out to review the Panasonic TH-42PX60U Plasma HDTV, SA-XR57 A/V Receiver, DMR-EH55 DVR/DVD Recorder, and SB-TP100 Speaker System.Coming in at $5100 for the entire package, it looks to be a great setup to get your Home Theater started or simply a very nice livingroom setup to enjoy HD football.
From the article:
As a complete system, this Panasonic ensemble's strengths are video
performance, easy setup, versatile DVD recording and editing, a
well-endowed budget receiver, and advanced control. The speaker system
is solid, but you could find a less expensive, more balanced performer
elsewhere if you're willing to break up the matching aesthetic that
these products share. As for EZ Sync, it may not be a panacea for all
of the control ills we encounter in the modern home theater, but it's
definitely a step in the right direction, providing a glimpse at HDMI's
promising future.
