User Submitted News Site?

As I get ready to gear up again (only 10 more days until I move in and have command central up and running) I have talked with the guys about the future of MissingRemote.com. One of the ideas that have come up is to shift MissingRemote.com to a user submitted news site. Not quite like Digg where its a community moderated type site. More like a Slashdot but with focus being on Home Theater, MCE/HTPC and other digital living type news (HA etc). The reason behind this? To free up more time for Mike and myself to work on content.

We want to be able to dig into CableCard, OEM HTPCs, and produce a lot more guides/blog posts this year. Of course, I love contests so we would reward submitters on a very regular basis :). Let me know what you think. I am actually quite excited by the idea of having a huge pool of news for our readers.

In other news, my laptop died at home :(. So I was unable to announce this week's forum contest. I have put those on hold until I get settled in to my new house. It is sure to be a busy week and I don't want to leave you guys hanging. Thank you for your readership and your participation at MissingRemote.com.
