Inkel to launch HDTV receiver adopting H.264 codec

MPEG-2 move over, you had best make room for H.264. Now that we have mainstream videocards with great CODEC offload, it just might be time to update OTA cards.

SEOUL, Korea (AVING) — Inkel(www.inkel.co.kr) launches its HDTV receiver ‘AirwayHD’ in Korea market in late this month. By adopting H.264 codec, it compresses AVI files into 1/4 of its original size, enabling users to store only 1.6GB of data for 50 minutes video file(6GB).
