SageTV V6.2.6 Release Candidate is Ready!

The folks at SageTV, masters of all operating systems, have released a RC for their Version 6. Now that QAM has been implemented, I wonder what is next for the SageTV crowd? HD Extender? UI overhaul? Only time will tell, go on grab one of the nine available downloads.

Core Updates
1. Fixed bug where detection of MS-DRM didn’t work anymore
2. Add "Finland-Paijatvisio" DVB-C frequencies (Thanks Atte Lehtinen for providing data)
3. Add two frequencies into UK North Winter Hill
4. Don’t create default channels in the lineup for digital tuners when
no lineup is selected. Only create channels from when a scan is done.
5. Fixed bug where copying multiple files to the library from the client to the server would stop after the first file
6. Fixed bug where our usage of coerceData was messing up the alpha state for buffered images (transparency would be wrong)
7. Fixed bug in text rendering where we sometimes clipped the edges of italic characters
8. If you try to use Back when the back history has been emptied; then SageTV will send you to the Main Menu.
9. Added support for a ‘prefix’ command which gets sent before a channel change
10. Fixed bug where an exception in the library importer would kill it until the app was restarted
11. Fixed bug where SageTV would try to delete recordings in an offline drive to regain diskspace.

Windows Updates
1. When re-using a lineup on another capture device input; SageTV will
now copy the .frq file for that input to the new one if it’s for a
digital tuner
2. Fixed bug where text rendering with DirectX9 was sometimes slightly off in pixel alignment
3. Fixed deadlock bug in cleanup of the DX9 renderer.
4. FIX 64-QAM type
5. Add a new feature to allow user to use PredefineQAM.frq to scan QAM
channel, so that user can fine tune frequencies in PrefinedQAM.frq
file, and scan frequencies that carry digital signal to save scan time.
6. Use QAM scan frequencies cache file to save re-scanning time, as
SageTV has to search all frequencies of NTSC-cable, HRC-Cable, ATSC to
use a lot of time. Using cache frequencies reduces scanning time to 1/3
of all-range frequency searching. it’s in experimental, enable with an
empty file "QAM_FRQ_CACHE.ENABLE" in sagetv directory.
7. Add code to scan 64QAM ( with a flag file "64QAM.ENABLE" to enable it )
8. FIX: multiple audio streams switching has the seek exception
9. Fix MpegDemux auto detect a playable change in multiple channel TS format recording.
10. Change for the HDHomeRun BDA driver update that SilionDust removed
multiple registed filter, leaves a BDA Source Filter only.

Macintosh Updates
1. Added UI size limit to OpenGL renderer to deal with desktops whose
resolution is larger than that of the maximum 3D texture. The default
is 2048 and is controlled by the property: ui/max_dimension_size
2. Fixed alpha setting for text rendering in JOGL
3. Fixed DirecTV serial control on the Mac, changed the read command to handle non-blocking IO

Media Extender Updates
1. Fixed bug where some test MP3 files would cause playback to hang
2. Added proper pixel aspect ratio calculation for variable resolution media extenders
3. Fixed bug where loading of an extender or placeshifter when still
running in trial mode could send the server into an infinite loop.

Placeshifter Updates
1. Added error check when entering a locator ID into the Placeshifter
so it makes sure you use all valid numbers/letters (hex digits).
2. If a SageTVPlaceshifter.properties file exists in the working
directory for the Placeshfiter; that file is used for loading/saving
the config instead of the one in the user’s home directory.
3. Fixed blending factor for texture rendering when using the 3D accelerated placeshifter client

Studio Updates
1. Fixed bug where scrolling around a 2-D table w/ time as a dimension
wouldn’t completely re-evaluate fully reused components (time arrows in
EPG disappearing bug)
2. Fixed bug where we couldn’t create RawImage objects from certiain types of Java buffered images
3. Fixed bug where the alpha value for certain text wasn’t being obeyed
4. Fixed bug in GetSignalStrength API call where it could return a value out of the 0-100 range.
5. Added Configuration API calls: SetPrefixCommandForInfraredTuningPlugin & GetPrefixCommandForInfraredTuningPlugin
6. Fixed usage of the ‘|’ functionality in FilterByMethod API call

STV Updates
1. Removed partially transparent Fav marker, shown when a Fav wasn’t
scheduled to be recorded. Also changed the Program Guide to display a
single marker instead of 2 rows of smaller markers.
2. For thumbnail buttons, reduced the height of the image area so that the thumbnail didn’t overlap the text.
3. Added outline overlay images for Favs & MRs, and updated RecordX
and MarkerX images. There is support to use Don’t Like and Currently
Recording overlay images, with the images provided by user-created
custom themes.
4. Fixed issue of having a shape widget under a GetFocusContext() call,
directly under the menu widget. This caused the whole menu to be
refreshed when focus changed & was fixed by putting the shape under
a panel.
5. Added support to use FilterIcon.png for the icon bar’s Filter Option, when the image is available.
6. Added initial support for image-based airing overlays/outlines.
7. Added support to use GenericEditorialArt.png for a TV Show Editorial that has no thumbnail available.
8. Changed SageTV Recordings sort options dialog to list the base options + a single reverse option checkbox.
9. Hidden: Changed malore menu sort options dialog to list the base options + a single reverse option checkbox.
10. Added support for custom SageTV Recordings views, with the new
abilities to rename each view and configure more extensive filter
settings for each view.
11. Added ability to filter multiple categories into or out of the SageTV Recordings list.
12. Hidden: Added ability to filter multiple categories into or out of the malore custom menus.
13. Removed HDTV as a selectable category to filter, since it is a separate filter item already.
14. Changed thumbnail button highlight image to be transparent w/highlighted border.
15. Hidden: Groups of recordings are played in the malore menu’s sort
order rather than always in the order the recordings were made.
16. SageTV Recordings and Search Results: put filtering code back into
the UI chain so the list properly updates after various events.
17. If there are scheduling conflicts, the Recording Schedule icon bar has a link to the Recording Conflicts menu.
18. Updated VerticalEPGArea theme to match newer button style of
AiringListingAreaTheme. (Untested, since the default STV no longer uses
VerticalEPGArea; updated for customizations that use it.)
19. Changed properties names controlling whether to use advanced
video/grouped video options dialogs in order to reset them. Also added
options for those settings in Detailed Setup -> Customize.
20. Added option for "Channel Change Prefix Code" to the Remote Control
Options dialog; accessed via the Tuner Control option in Source Details.
21. SageTV Recordings row mode: slightly faded count of recordings in a
group, to match how it is slightly faded in thumbnail mode.
22. Add Instant Search option, with ability to enter text & jump to
the Search menu from any navigation menu. In Detailed Setup ->
Customize, Instant Search can be configured to jump to search
immediately, open a dialog to continue entering text (default), or turn
it off. Using Instant Search on the Google or YouTube menus initiates a
search for that type of online video.
23. Hidden: partial bar can be enabled for all partial recordings or just for those listed on the partial recording menu.
24. Hidden: malore menu has new option to enable/disable wrap-around scrolling.
25. Hidden: changed loading of malore menus so that the last focus on
an airing item is properly remembered when returning to the menu. Added
option to filter the chosen category into or out of the list.
26. Updated SageTV Recordings to change category BG color fill and the grouped recordings icon.
27. Hidden: malore menus added ability to filter archived shows into or
out of the list. Added option to set the number of alternate views for
malore menus. Added Smooth FF/REW and FF2/REW2 commands as method to go
to the next/prev alternate menu view.
28. SageTV Recordings, Recording Schedule, Online Video Search Results,
and Search menus now use the Smooth FF/REW and FF2/REW2 commands to
switch to the mext/prev cageory bar view style, matching the
functionalist of the imported media browsers.
29. After selecting a photo to view, use a pop-up dialog to display the
"Loading…" message instead of a simple panel in order to prevent
selecting any other images while the current one is loading.
30. Hidden: Added option for malore 2-pane menus to use double-height
buttons on the right pane or on both panes. The setting is individual
for each malore menu. Added an icon bar. Added MaloreNormalBG.png as
the unfocused BG image for malore menu items.
31. Hidden: malore menus: Added category bar for alternate views. Can
set number of alternate views for each menu, instead of one value for
all malore menus. Can name the alternate views. Added single option to
enable/disable use of icon & cageory bars. Added filter options for
"Manual or Fav" and "Not MR or Fav".
32. Updated weather changes to display the ‘recorded at’ text using the gray color.
33. Weather: Updated layout of current conditions area, forecast overview buttons, and detailed forecast dialog.
