MythTV Adds Support For NVIDIA VDPAU
Support is still preliminary and rather buggy but if you have the hardware requirements and don’t mind using code that is not yet released, Mythtv can use the new Nvidia accelleration that was recently released. That’s one big advantage of open source applications. Quick turn around times for new features.
With NVIDIA providing a header file in the driver
that details this API, the community has been able to study VDPAU and
one of the first fruits of this work is now available. Committed to MythTV is a VDPAU decoder.
