Vivitek Announces first Sub-$1000 Projector

I am still a long way away from having the proper home to have a projector, but this is a good sign of things to come. With the prices of LCD’s plummeting lower every month, it’s good to see prices on projectors drop a bit as well. Never heard of Vivitek however…so can’t wait to see a review on it.

The Vivitek H1080FD has a variety of I/O ports including: HDMI (x2), Composite Video, S-Video, Component Video, RS-232c and a 12v Trigger. It incorporates a DLP® chipset from Texas Instruments to ensure the digital images don’t fade or degrade over time. With 3000 hours of lamp life (standard) and noise level of 29dB, the Vivitek H1080FD is an ideal home theater projector for the mass consumer. The projector is designed to enable cool and efficient operation and keep the projector running at top energy efficient levels.
