Redbox Agrees to 28-Day Window for Warner Titles

I must say I am extremely disappointed with this announcement, but it’s not all that surprising after seeing reports of how difficult the studios were making it for Redbox to get them (see: Wal-mart limiting DVD purchases in bulk). Anyone else bothered that Blockbuster doesn’t have this restriction?

Warner and Redbox will implement the deal in March, with the first delayed title slated for the March 23 release of The Blind Side (which would hit Redbox in late April). The new agreement runs through Jan. 31, 2012. Redbox has also agreed to destroy Warner DVDs following their lifespan in kiosks.
