July 20th Blu-ray Releases
A couple good picks this week. I saw The Runaways, and it’s definitely not for the traditional faint of heart, but if you’re a fan of Joan Jett and the 70’s style of rock music it’s worth a look, but I was pretty surprised to see Dakota Fanning in her role as the band’s leading singer–she’s not exactly a child anymore…apparently. Haven’t seen Cop Out, but my hopes are not too high for it no matter how much I like Tracy Morgan.
MissingRemote’s Pick of the Week
The
Losers ** Let me start by saying I LOVED this movie. I’ll also add that I watched it with a female friend of mine who was beyond pessimistic at first and even she loved it in the end. It’s just a FUN movie. Based off the comic book I had never read, the story deals with a special ops unit who get framed and left for dead. If it sounds like the plot to the A-Team….well….no argument, but this story is much more about revenge than helping others. The explosions are huge, the action is constant and there are even plenty of laughs throughout. If you’re looking for an entertaining film I highly recommend it. |
