  • I am confused on the need for

I am confused on the need for PlayOn. Is that for certain features or all of them. Netflix works fine on my MCE now but Hulu integration would be nice but not if i have to jump through a lot of hoops.

  • Playon gives you access to

Playon gives you access to the content, tubeCore is the content organizer and presents it into media center.

  • Anybody notice the amazon
Anybody notice the amazon (beta) tile? Will this allow me to stream prime? There is no mention of it on the tubecore site…

  • I have been looking for

I have been looking for something like this. Anyone using it?  Wondered about the user interface between each of the services.  Wife factor says that anything that cannot be done with the standard Media Center remote = no good.  I will use it, but she will not.

  • The Tubecore UI is pretty

The Tubecore UI is pretty great.  You don’t need anything but a remote to operate it.  Where PlayOn really shines is when using extenders.  Being able to access Netflix, Hulu (Free or Plus), Amazon VOD, MTV, Nick, Cartoon Network, ESPN, CNN, Fox News, etc., etc. on any DLNA device or media center extender is awesome!  Check out all the channels that PlayOn works with: http://www.playon.tv/content-channels .  I barely scratched the surface with my list!  PlayOn and TubeCore have free trials available so check them out @ http://www.playon.tv/download/ and http://www.tubecentric.tv/download-tubecore-now .  I have been with PlayOn since they first came out so I was able to get the lifetime subscription, but the yearly subscription would be totally worth it!

I am confused on some of the descriptions.  A “DVR for PlayOn” and something on the TubeCore sight about WatchLater.   Can TubeCore save streaming video to allow you to skip commercials?

    • TubeCore used to have the

TubeCore used to have the ability to save streaming video, but I believe that PlayOn made them remove that functionality because it competes with PlayOn’s PlayLater service, which is essentially a DVR for streaming content.   I’m not sure how PlayLater deals with commercials on sites like  Hulu.

Tried to give this a shot, but can’t seem to download any software from the tubecore site and reading all the issues and bad blood between play-on and tubecore makes the setup appear to be on shaky ground.

I read the same.  I want the recording ability.  This is why I am looking at Tversity for media.
