Xbox 360 Dashboard update brings support for WTV files

With the new Xbox 360 Metro UI live, it has brought an undocumented change. Support for .WTV files over the network. But don’t get too excited and run out and re-plan your entire Media Center setup. The support is there but it doesn’t read the Meta tags yet, and you can’t skip forward, it just plays. But at least they play now and that are not just circles and x’s on the list of network video. This is probably a step forward when support for Windows 8 is out there. I am looking forward to news next month from CES and what we will see in the future of Xbox.
