Apple TV Offering Genius Recommendations for Movies and TV Shows
Apple TV owners have been treated to a surprise update and they didn’t even have to download anything. Apple has quietly updated their backend to push Genius recommendations for movies and TV shows to the Apple TV. The Apple TV was already able to provide Genius recommendations for music, and iTunes already provided Genius recommendations for movies and TV shows, so none of this is really new, but it does standardize functionality across platforms for everyone who counts on Apple to pick the movie at family movie night.
No user action is required to access the new feature, as it’s not part of a device firmware update. Instead, Apple has updated its own servers to send this information to the Apple TV from its iTunes Store equivalent.
