Hisense Pulse with Google TV Coming in November
Vizio isn’t the only company looking to cash in on the second generation of Google TV. Hisense USA has revealed that they are working on the Hisense Pulse with Google TV. The Pulse is due out this November, and though the company is not being specific about pricing, they are stating that it will be under $99. Not only will the Hisense Pulse be competing in the same price category as the previoulsy referenced Vizio Co-Star, but early images of the Pulse suggest that it will be a comparably sized little box and include a similar double-sided remote with standard controls and touchpad on one side and a full QWERTY board on the other side. It will be interesting to see if other companies decide to take a swing at the nascent Google TV settop box market this holiday shopping season and if they can do anything to differentiate their offerings.
For starters, this thing is called the Pulse, and it will arrive in November priced at “under $99,” more or less as expected. Other than the fact that it’s built on Android (duh), it supports resolutions ranging from 480i to 1080p and has HDMI, USB and Ethernet sockets. (It also has WiFi, of course, in case you’d rather not make use of that wired internet connection.)
