blumoo @ CES 2014
One of the coolest things about actually being at CES, is that you get the opportunity to discover small vendors that get buried or ignored in most coverage – blumoo is exactly that. Essentially it’s a tiny computer that you attach to your A/V stack that acts like a Bluetooth audio receiver and much more interestingly a universal remote control that lets you use your iOS/Android device to drive the components.
Unfortunately, it’s not activity based like a Harmony so the UI get a bit cluttered, and a lot of specific knowledge about the setup is required in order to make things happen. As a v.1 device I’m willing to give them a lot of leeway to evolve the product into something that will actually give Logitech a run for their money; it would be great to have some competition in the space.
