Ubiquiti UniFi Protect G4 Doorbell Pro Announced

Lots of companies throw around the “Pro” moniker in a way that makes it meaningless, but in this case it might actually apply; although “Plus” would probably be more fitting. For e.g. USB Type C power is a great add over the standard G4 doorbell, but why do we still have to use Wi-Fi to connect it when UI could have enable data over the connection via their PoE -> USB-C adapter? Now that would be “Pro”.

That’s not to say there there aren’t some other great feature additions too, like the second downward facing “package” camera, and fingerprint/NFC door unlocking support. Although, I am very curious what the limitations are around the fingerprint scanner. That can’t be a drop-in solution, there have to be other dependencies…
